Parking on Cob Lane

The issue of parked cars in Cob Lane, particuarly since the police change over, has recently been raised as a matter of concern by Bournville residents. For many residents Cob Lane has virtually become a one way system making it difficult to travel easily up and down Cob lane and putting any rapid response vechilces in jepoady making their way up/down Cob lane. If you have experienced any difficultities you are asked to raise your concern direct to the Bournville Ward neightbourhood Team over the next few weeks and by the end of May so that appropriate, remedial action can be taken. Please use one of the methods below to get your views heard. If enough residents take the time to do this the matter can be easily solved.

Fancy Dress Competition starts the Festival

The Fancy Dress competition, an integral part of the festival for so many years, this year sports three
age group categories

0-5 years
6-9 years
10 – 16 years

We need children with lots of imagination to come dressed as their favourite character or as an invention. You will find some photos from last year’s entry on the flickr site.

The Timetable for the Fancy Dress is :

2.05 Registration
2.15 Fancy Dress Assemble
2.25 Fancy Dress Parade and judging.

There are first, second and third prizes in each group, and every child that enters will receive a small gift.

This year the children entering the competition will assemble in the small marquee in front of the pavilion to register their name, age and costume choice. If, as in previous years, there is a queue for entry to the ground, please ask the Fancy dress competitors to go to the gate and they will be allowed through.

Get thinking & designing. We look forward to seeing the children’s efforts. results will be posted on the website after the event.
